Sunday, June 3rd, 2012

                                                                        Reno

The Concours d’Arrogonce car show will be held at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino Sunday, June 3rd, from 12:00 PM til 5:00 PM at the Atlantis Hotel. Tour check-in is available during the car show. The free Concours d’Arrogonce car show is a chance for the people of Reno to bring their cars and see the cars that come to Reno to start the ’12 tour. For more information about the Concours d’Arrogonce, click on the ‘Car Show’ icon on the side bar. The ‘Welcome to the Tour’ reception will start at 5:30 PM with dinner about 6:30PM.

Monday, June 4th 

                                                                        Reno – Carson City – Pickle Meadows – Bishop

 Registration will be in the parking lot at the Atlantis starting at 8:00 AM until 8:45 AM. There will be coffee and donuts available. The tour will leave at 9:00 AM and head south through Walker Valley on our way to the Marine Corps winter training facility in Pickle Meadows for lunch. After lunch we will continue on south with sight seeing stops at Mono Lake and Tom’s Place before our over night stay in Bishop where the Owens Valley Cruisers and the Bishop C of C are planning a drive-in movie event.

Tuesday June 5th 

                                                                      Bishop – Lone Pine – Barstow

 Our first stop after leaving Bishop will be the National Historic Site of Manzanar.  After our stop at Manzanar we will visit the town of Lone Pine where such films as; ‘How The West Was Won’, ‘G.I. Jane’, ‘Gone in Sixty Seconds’, ‘Star Trek V, The Final Frontier’, The Lone Ranger’, and hundreds of western films were filmed. We will have the chance to visit the Film History Museum and see the history of film making in Lone Pine. Also available will be a tour of the Alabama Hills where western films were shot. We will have lunch in Lone Pine and then continue south to Barstow where the Saturday Night Cruisers of Barstow and the Just Cruising 4 fun car clubs will host a car show for us.

Wednesday, June 6th

                                                                        Barstow – Laughlin

Wednesday will be a short driving day. In the morning we plan on stopping at a USMC base a have coffee with the service men and women stationed there. Then we will head east and have a pit stop in Needles and turn north and go to Laughlin where we will stay for two nights.

Thursday, June 7th

                                                                        Laughlin

Thursday will be a day of rest and relaxation. Thursday evening we have planned a riverboat cruise for members of the tour.

Friday, June 8th

                                                                        Laughlin – Tonopah

The six day cruisers will head north through Las Vegas and on to Tonopah for their overnight stay.

                                                                        Laughlin – Oatman – Seligman – Flagstaff, AZ

The nine-day cruisers will take old Route 66 to the town of Oatman and have a morning stop for sight seeing. After Oatman we will drive to Kingman for lunch and then continue on ‘The Mother Road’ to Seligman for  a pit stop. We will head east to Flagstaff, AZ where we will spend two nights. The change from staying at the Grand Canyon to staying in Flagstaff is due to the high room costs and limited number of rooms available for block reservations with the Grand Canyon hotels.

Saturday, June 9th

                                                                        Tonopah – Reno

The six-day cruisers will leave Tonopah and head back to Reno.

                                                                        Flaggstaff, AZ

Friday night we have a gourmet dinner and car show planned and on Saturday we will have a car show with the Route 66 Car Club. Shuttles are available for those that would like to go and see the Grand Canyon.

Sunday, June 10th

                                                                        Flagstaff, AZ – Kanab – St. George
The tour will head north and have a gas stop in Page and then continue on to Kanab. In Kanab the Kanab Chamber of Commerce will arrange lunch and we will be joined by the ‘Red Rock Road Runners’. After lunch some of the cruisers will be taking a side trip to the world famous animal rescue shelter, ‘Best Friends’, to see their work first hand. We will continue on to St. George for our overnight stay. At the present time no car show is planned.

Monday June 11th

                                                                        St. George -Alamo – Rachel – Tonopah

We’re heading west today! We will make a gas stop in Alamo and drive the ‘Extraterrestrial Highway’ to Rachel for an ‘out of this world’ lunch.  After lunch we will continue on to Tonopah for our overnight stay.

Tuesday, June 12th

                                                                        Tonopah – Hawthorne – Reno

We will continue northwest and have a gas stop in Hawthorne and then continue on to Reno where Big Al and Gary will start making preparations for the ‘13 tour.
